Dr. Kathleen Bennett lives in the Cincinnati area with her husband, Steve. She practices in Clifton at the University Medical Arts Building on Piedmont Ave. One day a week she practices with the UC Health Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Center in West Chester. Her practice is limited to Oral Appliance Therapy.
Dr. Bennett has practiced general dentistry for 26 years-graduating from Georgetown University in 1979 and SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1983. She completed her general practice residency at Buffalo General Hospital the following year.
Dr. Bennett became certified by the ABDSM as a Diplomate in Dental Sleep Medicine in 2002.
Dr. Bennett frequently lectures nationally on oral appliance therapy for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Since 2012 she has participated with the ADA Speaker Seminar Series, speaking nationally on oral appliance therapy. She frequently lectures with the AADSM,and annually moderates with their study club.
She has served since 2006 as a director of the AADSM. She will complete her term as President of AADSM in June of 2016 and will serve two more years as past President.
Since 2006 she has worked with the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Cincinnati. The medical fellows spent time seeing dental patients in her office to learn the fundamentals of airway evaluation and oral appliance therapy.
She also participates with the Sleep conferences and Upper Airway conferences.
Regionally, Dr. Bennett volunteers her time working with Lighthouse Youth Services
Dr. Bennett has fabricated well over 1,500 dental appliances.
